Its that time of year again....

Time to pick out Christmas Cards! I love Christmas and getting everyone's cards in the mail. Is that weird? I guess it makes me feel special! So I return the favor, and send out cards as well. Who wouldn't want a fancy picture of me and hubby?? Can't think of anyone...Now I have been doing some serious debating on which Christmas card I want to send out, which picture should I put, how much should I really spend on these cards, etc. It is always a process but I can't get away from Shutterfly! Oh how I love you Shutterfly. I have ordered my christmas cards from there for the past two years and no matter how much research I do, it is always the most economical for us. (not to mention they have some of the cutest cards!) Here are a few of my top picks! For the moment anyway, my favorites are subject to change!!

So that being said Shutterfly is also giving away 50 FREE Christmas Cards!! Who can pass that up?? I would have picked Shutterfly anyway BUT the 50 free cards definitely help. I'll probably add a few extra things to my order...perhaps some super cute thank you cards or a photo calendar!
Yep, that's all for now. Going to try and finalize my card and hopefully get them in the mail soon enough! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

13.1

I did it! Trained for a half marathon and ran it last weekend. It was actually fun too. The atmosphere was amazing. 26,000 people racing, bands playing every mile or so, people cheering along the race course. I think I'll do it again! Maybe 26.2 next time??

Who Knew???

So have you ever had gum stuck in your hair??

I feel sure I have at one point in my life...

Funny story.... last year, one of my kids (when I say "my kids", I mean my kindergartners) told her mom that I cut her hair. So the mom confronted me, I guess believing that I actually cut it??? I told her I absolutely DID NOT cut her hair and would NEVER cut a child's hair! Especially not without a note explaining myself. The mom said "Well she told me she got glue in her hair and you had to cut it out". Which I guess makes sense but still...nooooooooo I did not cut your kid's hair. Thank you very much. So after that was solved, I was appalled that this mom would really think I would cut her kid's hair. The nerve!

ok so here's PART TWO of my story.....

A few weeks later my kids were lining up after recess. They like to be RRRRRRRRRREALLY close to me so of course one child was basically standing on my toes. I can't remember who said it, but one child said something pretty funny and I laughed (not a real laugh, more of a puff of air coming out of my mouth laugh). And what do you know......OUT CAME MY GUM INTO THIS LITTLE GIRL'S hair standing on my toes. WHOOOOPPS!!!!! Hate when that happens. ****good news is it was a different little girl, I knew you were worried****

So I immediately panicked! OMG. I have to get this gum out of her hair. Guess how??
YEP! Had to use the good ole pair of scissors. It wasn't too bad b/c the gum was stuck towards the end of her hair so the damage was minimal. But yes, I had to cut the kid's hair. Isn't it ironic?? Don't cha think?

So I called the mom and told her about it (the second mom, not the first mom...she will never know my secrets....) Anyway, She laughed and we all lived happily ever after.

Now for PART THREE.......
This past week, I noticed this is one of my kindergartner's hair.....
A BIG wad of green gum. Uh Oh! Can't just cut this one out without doing a lot of damage. This gum had clearly been stuck in her hair for a day or two. Apparently, her mom was out of town so the Dad was in charge...This is what happens when the mom goes away. ANYWAY! Well one of my fellow teachers ( a much more experienced and wise teacher) told me a little secret...

(And it doesn't involve peanut butter...I knew that's what you were thinking)

WD-40. It will get gum out of hair! So naturally, she had a bottle of WD-40 in her desk. Who doesn't have that in her desk??

It worked like MAGIC. The gum came out without hurting the little girl or putting a large gash in her beautiful (and now greasy) long hair! Who knew???

***just discovered that I could change the font colors. so sorry if I take it overboard at any point in my blogs****

And It Begins....

Soooo here it is! A blog of my life. Well not really, just a few things about my life. Exciting things (or unexciting things for that matter) that happen, things I learn (as I live..hence the blog title), and whatever else I want to write! So here it goes.....
